Description

2018 marks the 10th anniversary of LEA’R, which we are proud to celebrate with the release of the revolutionary LCM-Skyline, world’s first custom made In-Ear Monitors (CIEM) to be certified for Hi-Res Audio by the Japan Audio Society. It is also LEA’R’s first earphones to be incorporated with our new “Hearing Care” concept.

There are more qualities to crown the LCM-Skyline as our most revolutionary earphones. Consisted of our very own high performance 8mm PEEK diaphragm, N50 Neodymium magnet, and CCAW coil full-range dynamic driver. Fitted with our high purity solid-core oxygen-free copper (OFC) interconnection wire and 4% Silver-Tin soldering, ensuring high sensitivity providing frequency response up to 40,000Hz to be certified as Hi-Res by the Japan Audio Society, with very low distortion at (≦ 0.2% THD@1kHz), providing a natural and detailed listening experience.

To improve the comfortability for users to enjoy music in long period listening, we have incorporated a mechanism to balance the in-ear pressure. This eliminates the pressure while wearing as well as alleviating the ear canal pressure, resulting in a more natural sound and protection to your ears.

Needless to mention, a CIEM should perfectly fit into the owner’s ears. Skyline achieves so not only by referencing the traditional physical ear impression but to scan the ear impression and make adjustments based on our 10 years+ experience on CIEMs fitting. Then, we can finally 3D print the shell of the CIEMs in Hong Kong, ensuring accurate fitting and quality for your earphones.

The Skyline uses a high-quality beryllium copper MMCX socket, in which users can upgrade the cable with their own preference. The LEA’R BTC-01 Bluetooth cable is supported, enabling one to wirelessly listen, make phone calls, as well as remote control the phones.

Orders from now are just HK$1388up (US$185up), a breakthrough pricing for high-quality CIEMs, as we believe in making quality products affordable to all. Come join the earphones revolution!

Remark 1: Transparent black, opaque black, and glitter black offered with basic pricing,  extra colors available at $498 per each in extra.
Remark 2: Basic pricing includes standard Transparent & Opaque color faceplate, special faceplates available at additional pricing.
Remark3: Bundled ear impression service will be only available in taking in our Kwun Tong Store.

Why we designed the LEA'R Hearing Care test?

Earphone development is a high risk job for hearing health, if we we know how to protect ourselves, we know how to protect our customers !
The Hearing Care test is the standard we use to tell and protect ourselves whether this product is suitable for long-term use!
Ultimately,we hope to protect you, our users!

About the LEA’R Hearing Care:

We all recognize and comprehend nutrition labels on food products, which then we can make purchasing decisions. We find this lacking from earphones packaging, with data that consumers cannot comprehend to understand the characters of the earphones, or even not knowing that it might hurt one’s hearing. Some might argue, that earphones are best to be heard than to be judged through data. However, would one consume food from suspicious sources? Apparently not, but some might think we can blindly test earphones without appropriate data.

Based on a World Health Organization (WHO) report released on the 27th February, 2015, 1.1 billion teenagers suffer from hearing loss from high sound pressure level music from smart phones, night clubs, and sport venues. Hearing loss is a health concern that should be recognized, that impacts education and employment. Data from mid and high income countries were then analyzed by WHO, suggesting which nearly 50% of teenagers from 12-35 put themselves at risk with high volume listening, e.g. over 8 hours of listening above 95dBSPL or 15mins of listening above 100dBSPL.

On the other hand, a 2016 CCTV news report revealed that a staggering 99.8% of the 3,826 students interviewed use earphones. Among the interviewees, 20% spend over 2 hours listening with earphones on a daily basis. A staggering 30% among the interviewed has signs of noise induced hearing loss. It is an extremely worrying phenomenon that teenagers suffer from hearing loss in early stages of life.

As a responsible earphones producer, we seek to translate the characters of earphones for consumers so that they can easily comprehend the characters of the earphones, and determine whether it might harm their hearing. Combining our experience with researches and reports, we came up with some characteristics of human hearing. We then use these characters as a weighting, then apply it to the raw data from taken from earphone measurements. By dividing the measurement into frequency bands and guide, users can easily understand the spectral frequency of the earphones, hence distinguish the individual frequency spectrums that might harm our hearing. This will limit us, the developers, and remind the users on the potential dangers of purchasing earphones that deem harmful.

LEA’R Hearing Care is currently under internal testing phase, which we welcome your comments. Your input is extremely important and valued for us to perfect the mechanism, which we seek to promote to the industry with the basis of recognition from consumers.
